Thundershirt Review

So if you haven't heard Texas weather is sort of crazy, it's always changing & well the weather for May was amazingly pleasant, except for the storms. It's June & so far we haven't even hit 100 degrees yet for the year, talk about blessed! However, most of the storms & rain we usually receive in April arrived in May, in full force at that!

I will gladly take the rain over any hot day but for my dog, Ms P, the storms are not her friend. Mrs P is our seven year old black lab, she is the sweetest thing on earth & the only thing that bothers her, are thunderstorms! Mrs P has bad anxiety when it comes to thunder, be prepared for barking, wining, & all about sixty pounds of her sitting in your lap. Oh & if a thunderstorm arrives in the middle of the night, your sleep is over, I've never seen Ms P so frightened before!

When I heard about Thundershirt, I knew we had to get one asap for Ms P to help with her thunder anxiety! Not sure what a Thundershirt is? Well let me tell you about this amazing solution for dog anxiety!

The Thundershirt is safe, drug free, easy to use & applies a gentle pressure on your canine's torso for a dramatic calming effect. Thundershirts can help with barking problems, can be used as a training tool, for crate anxiety, leash pulling & so much more! It is made of soft, breathable fabric & just takes a few steps to put on.

One afternoon I knew we were expecting heavy storms, so I was keeping an eye on the radar & as the skies got darker & the storm got closer, I knew it was time to have Ms P sit down for me & put her Thundershirt on! I simply placed the Thundershirt on her back & wrapped the short flap under her torso. Next I wrapped the long flap under her torso & secured it with the fasteners onto the short flap, making it a comfortable yet snug fit. Then I wrapped the top flap down onto the long flap & secured it, adjusting it to make sure it stayed snug & kept the Thundershirt in place. Lastley, I just wrapped the chest straps around the front of Ms P & secured them in place with the fasteners.

It literally took just a few minutes & Ms P was ready for the storm, Thundershirt does state that the shirts can be worn for up to two hours but if wearing for an extended amount of time, let your canine have breaks to prevent any irritation spots.

Thundershirt also carries Thundershirt's for cats, a Thunderleash & more! With a 100% satisfaction guarantee, you can't go wrong with Thundershirt! I can't believe we didn't get one sooner for Mrs P, she really is a completely different dog during thunderstorms thanks to Thundershirt!

Wow, that's neat! I know a number of people who could use that for their dog. I'll have to let them know about this!

Well as you know, we LOVE the Thundershirt! It has helped Lucy tremendously with her separation anxiety, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has a pet that suffers from any type of anxiety. This is an AWESOME product, and well worth the money!

I was a skeptic at first and then said the fireworks are crazy here in south Florida because they are legal and then the lightning and thunder is so loud. Much louder than NY. I figured hey its around $40 but I can return it. Well it worked so fantastic that I even keep one at my moms house. She goes from quivering, like bad, with her tail so far underneath it can touch her nose. Once it goes on, she just becomes real sad. She just wants to sit in my walk in closet where I have a bed for her. She positions herself between the bed and the wall...so smart, and falls asleep.

This sounds like a great idea! My dog hates thunderstorms, so I'm really interested in any product that might help her. It's so helpful to read a review and see it in action!
