A letter to Big Brother C

Dear Big Brother C,
I wrote a letter to your little sister a few weeks ago & I realized at that time, I was way overdue for a letter for you. Where do I begin with you, you are my first born, my oldest & in our household, your out numbered!

You are one tough boy, after a long school day, you come home to have therapy, some days only one session but two days out of the week it's double sessions. You take it in like a champ, you work hard & give it your all everyday, every session!

I couldn't be more proud of how far you've come, from the first day we stepped into school at 3 1/2 years old to where you stand now. You amaze me each & everyday, you've taught me to have patience, kindness & an open heart.

So far on our journey we've met some amazing teachers, therapists & have become the best of friends with families just like ours. Our lives have been far from normal, we've had some major roller coasters, hit a few milestones & have so much more work to do.

You have the most contagious smile & laughter I have ever heard, everyone loves you, you are Mr Popular & are such a people person, plus you hand out the best high-fives!

When your not in school or doing therapy, we are attending swim, baseball or church, on the weekends. You keep my schedule full & busy, I'm perfectly ok with that, you enjoy doing extra activities & that makes me very happy!

Like everyone else, you have your good days & bad, there are some days your exhausted & you just want your time with out being bothered, or you can barely keep your eyes open during story time because your already on your way to catch some zzzz's.

You've learned a lot from your little sister's presence, you eat better, have more patience, you share, take turns, sometimes play well together but overall I feel like you both watch out for each other. I love watching ya'll interact together, hold hands or just kick back on the couch & watch your favorite movie on the big screen.

I know I don't tell you enough but I am so, so proud of you, you are such a smart & bright boy, I'm so thankful that God gave me you, Autism & all!

Love you Big Guy,
Mom
