How is your Christmas shopping going? Are you having a hard time finding that memorable gift for the young child in your life? Why not gift a book or two? My children love reading and our holiday books are some of our favorite and most cherished books!
This holiday season, Penguin Young Readers has an exciting selection of gift books and stocking stuffers for readers of all ages, they have a story for every child!
I recently received The Magical World of Strega Nona by Tomie dePaola and Dream Snow by Eric Carle from Penguin Books! I knew my children would love their brand new books, and I'm excited to read with them because they are written by two of my favorite authors!
The Magical World of Strega Nona is a special treasury that features six favorite stories about Strega Nona and her sidekick, Big Anthony. You will find the original Strega Nona, Strega Nona Meets Her Match, Strega Nona Takes a Vacation, Strega Nona's Gift and more in The Magical World Of Strega Nona!
Upon reading The Magical World of Strega Nona it brought back memories from my childhood, that's where my love for Tomie dePaola began. This book is truly magical, it's beautifully illustrated and everyone in your home will love reading this over and over!
Dream Snow by Eric Carle is a sweet Christmas story of an old farmer who settles down for a winter's nap, wondering how Christmas can come when there is no snow! When he awakens from his dream, he finds that it really has snowed outside and puts on his red suit, places gifts under the tree for his animals and then shouts Merry Christmas to all!
Eric Carle is an author I've known as far back as I can remember, I first fell in love with The Very Hungry Caterpillar, mater of fact, my children own several of Eric Carle's books. I was so excited to share Dream Snow with my kids, it's a simple but magical story with beautiful illustrations, Eric Carle does not disappoint!
So what do you think? Wouldn't your children love cuddling up next to a warm fire and reading these books together?
