Currently On My Heart - Christmas

This Christmas is a little different for us than previous years, we just put up our tree and decorated it the other day. No outside decorations this year but I did manage to hang stockings for Santa along the fireplace. This year is our last Christmas in the house we called home, we are saying good-bye to our house and starting the new year with new beginnings and a new home.

This Christmas has been the hardest for me, the last few weeks have been filled with emotional days, overwhelming moments, stress, exhaustion, sleep less nights, etc. Moving is something I am not a fan of, but it's something we have to do.

I've been praying over what the Lord has in store for myself and my little family, and he finally showed me a sneak peak this week - we saw our new to us house we would soon call home. It was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders - what an amazing feeling!

Although our current home is covered floor to ceiling in boxes (we should've thought about short-term self storage!), I didn't want Christmas to pass us by in all of the current chaos. So we've visited Santa at the mall, had our local photography take family Christmas pictures and despite all of the boxes and moving supplies, have our Christmas tree up and decorated. God has a plan for myself and my children, and as sad as we are to leave our current home, we are excited for the new year and new beginnings in our house that the three of us will call home.

Home is where the heart is, it's where you lay your head down to rest, it's where you spend time with loved ones making memories and messes. Not everyone has a place to call home and while we maybe starting over, I'm so thankful for this blessing God has given us. The three of us have a new place for new memories and messes to be made in the house that will soon be our home.

I'm so thankful for the friends and family members who have helped us, prayed for us and even lent me a shoulder to cry on. You all mean so much to me and I am forever grateful for each and every one of you! I know the future is looking big and bright for us!

Hopefully the move won't effect blogging at all, I can't fathom going a day or two with out internet or writing! But if something should come up, I'm hoping it will only be a two or three day delay or until I can get internet hooked up at our new place! :)

Moving in and of itself can be stressful. Keep praying and relying on God. He's got this!
Here's wishing you and yours a successful move and wonderful Christmas.

Yes, moving is soooo stressful. Four years ago, we moved from Spain to here, Fort Worth, Texas, and I can remember the stress of it but also the hope, the excitement and the anticipation of moving here. But, like you said, home is where your heart is, so I wish you the best wishes in this new year, with a new house, and a whole book filled up with 362 (already 4 days gone!) blank pages to fill up with great things!.
