Wonster Words App Review

(Disclosure: I received compensation for this post, however all opinions are 100% my own. Thank you so much for supporting my blog!)

Christmas break is a time when my kids have some much needed down time. While we still receive therapy when we are out of school, our days are a little slower and somewhat less chaotic. For my son, that means one thing, he can request more iPad time!

I love introducing my children to new, educational and fun apps! I closely monitor what they play on their electronics and I'm always on the hunt for appropriate and safe apps for them. Last month my children fell in love with the exciting Puzzingo Puzzles app so I couldn't wait to download and get them started on Wonster Words app.

Outdoor Fall Fun

The post is brought to you by Activate by Bloglovin and its advertiser. This post is sponsored by the Voice of Play. All opinions are mine alone.

The weather is changing, everyone is sneezing and it seems like we are all spending more time bundled up inside our homes. With fall here and winter on it's way, the leaves have covered the ground and the weather lately has been colder than what we are used to.

My children are full of energy, even with our busy schedule, it's so important for them to enjoy time to play and run outdoors every single day. Whether we are hanging out at the play ground down the street or kicking the soccer ball in the backyard, my children love being outdoors and this fall - we aren't letting the cooler weather keep us cooped up!

Holiday Wear from OshKosh B'gosh

"This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of OshKosh B'gosh; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own."

Winter is here and the holidays have arrived! While it may not be 20 degrees and snowing here in Texas, that doesn't stop us from decorating and dressing up in our favorite holiday wear! Every season parents look forward to the memories they'll make with their family during the holiday season. From visiting Santa for a special family photo or decorating Christmas cookies together, we all treasure these moments every year.

One of our favorite family traditions is decorating our home and our Christmas tree, it's something my children look forward to every year and it's the perfect time to gather the family around and spend some quality time together. I enjoy our family traditions and creating fun family memories is important to me as a parent.

On Being A Single Mom

You are good enough. You are good enough. Words I say out loud to myself as I sit in the school parking lot. It was a rough morning and I knew it was going to be a long day, I could just feel it. I'm being pulled in a million different directions, my mind is in overload, I'm overwhelmed, exhausted - just feeling all the emotions.
Some days I feel like that, some nights I cry myself to sleep, and other mornings I wake up and feel like I can take on the world. My days are long and my nights are short, I don't have much free time and our schedules are super tight with work, school, therapy and extra curricular activities. I carry a lot of weight on my shoulders, being a single parent isn't an easy job but so many like myself, do it on a daily basis.

Puzzingo Puzzles App Review

(Disclosure: I received compensation for this post, however all opinions are 100% my own. Thank you so much for supporting my blog!)

As a parent it's important that I monitor my children's screen time and what they are watching and playing. I carefully research each and every app before I download it, my children know they aren't allowed to download anything with out my permission. It has to be mom approved, I love apps that are educational, fun and entertaining but also that are age appropriate.

I was recently introduced to Puzzingo Puzzles, it's an exciting app that is full of puzzles and games and I knew it would be perfect for my children! Puzzingo contains over 100 learning puzzles and popular children's themes like fairies, cars, and pets! It also features puzzles that include core concepts such as shapes, colors, numbers, the ABC's and so much more! Within the app are over 60 mini-games that complement the "fantasies of play" for many of the puzzles.

Be Your Child's Advocate

Advocating for your special needs child is one of the best things you can do for them. When Big Brother C was first diagnosed I had no idea what Autism was and what our future would be like. I was clueless, scared, and afraid. However, as time when on, I quickly realized I was his voice, his CEO and that meant helping him and soon enough helping others as well.

After my daughter was born, she quickly fell in love with her big brother, she adored him, modeled him, and loved him like any sibling would. Now, just at six years old, loves her brother more and more every single day. She continues to help him, cares for him, shares with him and she knows he's different in some ways but she doesn't really know what Autism is. She is so proud of her big brother and is always happy to show him off. Little Sister C walks with him to his class every morning, gives him high fives through out the day and when we go out, lets everyone know he doesn't talk but that she will happily speak for him. She makes me so proud, I couldn't of asked for a better sister for him.

Fall is here, it's finally arrived! I still can't believe it's November but I'm so excited about the cooler weather, I wish it would stick around longer here in Texas! With fall arriving that means cold and flu season is on it's way unfortunately, the stomach flu is already circulating the schools - yuck! As a mom, I don't want to see my children sick or missing school and since I'm a single parent, I can't afford to get sick either. Relief with Advil

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #WhatInconvenience #CollectiveBias

It's hard to believe but back in middle and high school I was really athletic, I was in cross country, track, soccer, basketball and more. I loved staying active but right after I graduated from high school, I had my son and as busy as my lifestyle was - I wasn't walking or running or getting hardly any exercise in anymore. I wasn't as active, my heart wasn't getting enough exercise and sadly I had gained weight as well. My body craved exercise and unfortunately, I ignored it for way too long.

Nowadays, when I'm not a work, and driving the kids around to their activities, you'll find me at the gym, yes you read that right - I got my groove back! I go a few days a week and I love it, there is nothing better than a great work out or knocking out five or six miles on the treadmill. So how did I get there? Well, it wasn't easy!

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #FamilySavings #CollectiveBias

I love to shop, it's no secret that I enjoy shopping for my children but I also love a good deal just like everyone else! As a single mom it's important that I shop sales, use coupons and make sure I'm getting the best deals whenever I can! I'm also a very busy parent, I don't have hours to spend clipping and organizing paper coupons out of the newspaper, just to lose them or forget about them days later. Not only does that sound like a lot of work, who has the extra time for that? I sure don't and I'm so thankful one of my favorite stores now uses digital coupons - it makes my shopping trips a breeze!

Family Dollar® Stores offers the brands we all know and love with prices that are easier on your budget. Caring For Your Home

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #PledgeReflectionOfYou #CollectiveBias

When it comes to cleaning and caring for your home it can be an exhausting, full time task, especially if you’re a single parent like me, who doesn't really have much help in that area. I'm pretty good at staying on top of day-to-day chores like laundry, dishes, bathrooms, etc., but I don't deep clean as much as I'd like. I'd love to have my entire house deep cleaned once or twice a month, but as a single parent time doesn't always allow.

How To Quickly Clean Your Bathroom

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #ScrubTheMess #CollectiveBias

I'm a big germ freak, I enjoy having a clean home and as a single parent my children depend on me to take on all of the household chores. From laundry to dusting, I do it all, even the dirtiest of jobs like scrubbing the bathroom! Cleaning your bathroom and keeping it clean is much easier than you think! I've learned a few tips and tricks over the years, and now I can have our bathroom from gross to sparkly clean in less than 30 minutes! That means I'm spending less time cleaning and more time playing with my children and I know every mom wants that!

While picking up some after school snacks at my local Krogers, I remembered I needed some things from the cleaning isle! I easily located the New Scotch-Brite® Disposable Toilet Scrubber and New Scotch-Brite® Disposable Scrubber Refills and couldn't wait to get home and put them to work on my toilets!

The summer heat is far from being over but that won't stop the ringing of back to school bells! With the first day of school just a few weeks away, our schedule is about to get a whole lot busier! This year both of my children will be in school full time, my daughter is off to kindergarten and my son will be starting 5th grade - man how time flies!

Trying to balance school, work and life in general is a lot when your a single mom, we spend a lot of time in the truck, we are always on the go! I don't mind managing it all, but more often than not I find myself eating or feeding my little family on the go, my children mean everything to me and I love when they ask for their favorite foods at the grocery store. However, sometimes I need fast, easy, and convenient food options that taste good and are available when and where I need them. As a mom it's important that anything I provide for my family is something everyone will love and that's why I fell in love with Nestlé!

Struggling With Change

School is right around the corner and I'm not sure if we are ready. The back to school schedule is great for our routine and structure but I'm not sure I'm ready for my children to start at a new school. We changed over the summer, made the move from what was probably our favorite school with the most amazing teachers ever to a new school. It broke my heart to leave our school, the school we fell in love with, the teachers that poured their heart and soul into Big Brother C and where he absolutely loved going. The therapists, teachers and classmates opened up their hearts to us and they all quickly felt more like family than friends.

On August 22nd, the three of us will step foot into a new school, an entire building of new faces, new sounds, new classrooms filled with new teachers, new friends, new therapists, new schedules, new surroundings - it's a lot to take in. It can be overwhelming, so much change at once, my big guy doesn't do well with drastic change, he's not a fan of his routine changing - at all. My heart sinks into my stomach about the thought of him walking around this new school with new teachers and feeling lost or sad. Big Brother C can't always communicate what he wants, or how he's feeling and he can't tell me at the end of a school day how his day went - just a few of the many joys of Autism.

Keeping Confidence Through The Night

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #RestEasyWithCVS #CollectiveBias

The quietest moments in our home is when my children are fast asleep and dreaming away. Most of the time after they go to bed I enjoy a little bit of quiet time to myself before calling it quits for the day. Every night before I go to bed I quietly peak in and check on my children, there is just something so peaceful about sleeping kids!

It's important for my children to get a good night's sleep, I want nothing more than for my son to rest easy at night and that's why I chose GoodNites® Bedtime Pants for him! Bedwetting is pretty common with young kids, one out of six 4-12 year olds wets the bed but it's not something to be ashamed of. As parents it's important that we stay positive and encourage our children that everything will be just fine.

Celebrating My Best Friend This Mother's Day

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #GiveABox #CollectiveBias

When I was a child, I always knew in my heart I wanted to be a mom and have children of my own one day. I became a mother at a very young age, at 19 years old I had my son and from that day on, my life changed forever. With love, support and guidance from my mom, my parenting journey began, and I knew right then and there, I wanted to be the mother to my children that my mom was and still is to me.

My mom is my best friend, she's an amazing woman and I'm so glad that I have her in my life. We didn't always see eye to eye when I was younger and it took me longer than I'd like to admit that I needed her. The older I got, the more of her I saw in myself and I realized how much we had in common. We've been through a lot together and I'm so thankful she's been there for me through it all.

I am her first born child and her only daughter, so I feel like we have a special bond - one that I'm learning to share with my little princess. I'm so blessed to call her my mother and my best friend, she's also a wonderful grandmother to my children, we couldn't imagine our lives with out her. My mom is kind, caring and loving, she's taught me to be a better person, a better mom, she's taught me to fight for my special needs son and to never give up when life gets tough. I know I can call on her day or night for anything, whether it's advice or if I just need a listening ear.

Spring Time Fun

Hello spring! I don't think we had much of a winter at all, but I'm so glad to see spring, I hope it sticks around for a while before the summer heat hits and we all start melting! I can't even believe it's April already, we've been so busy!

My Big Guy had his first baseball game of the season on Easter weekend so it was a crazy, jam-packed weekend! I was able to snap a few pictures of him, and I think he did pretty good overall! We attended church Easter morning and then caught up with family and friends for a bbq later that evening, I always go home so stuffed - the food is just amazing at my Papa's house!

Plus up your life with Walmart Family Mobile PLUS

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser, Walmart Family Mobile. All opinions are mine alone. #DataAndAMovie #CollectiveBias

Life as a single parent is crazy busy and kind of feels like a roller coaster most of the time. I love the time with my children but I also enjoy what little alone time I get. Single parent life has turned me into a multi-tasking ninja, there is always something to be done whether it's cleaning goldfish crumbs out of my truck or staying up late and tackling the never ending laundry. When I'm not cleaning, shopping, meal-planning or chasing my two children, you'll find me blogging or working on my finances. Part of being an adult and a parent is budgeting, I learned early on how to budget but after I became a parent is when I realized how important it really was to budget and stretch every single dollar where I could.

Sweetos Snacks are back for Easter!

Thank you Frito-Lay for sponsoring this post. This spring, try the new twist on seasonal snacking!

Can you believe it's almost Easter? How are you celebrating? Better yet, what are you filling up Easter baskets with this year? The Cheetos brand, the masters of cheese is making Easter just a little sweeter this year by bringing back everyone's favorite Cheetos Sweetos cinnamon sugar snacks! Last year Sweetos snacks took Americans by storm by swapping the signature Cheetos cheese flavor that we all love for delicious, cinnamon-sugar puffs for the first time in the U.S in nearly 70 years!

Sweetos snacks are back for Easter and are the perfect alternative to the traditional chocolate and candy treats. Chester Cheetah and Cheetos believe it's time for a change - according to the Statistic Brain Research Institute, Americans purchase more than 120 million pounds (that's 60,000 tons!) of candy each Easter!

How To Maximize Closet Space

When we moved back in January, I lost a lot of closet space. So much that I almost cried over it, all of us have small closets, and I miss my huge walk-in closet on a daily basis. However, I quickly learned that I needed to maximize closet space for every single closet in our house and I was going to have to be creative and stick to a budget.

So I searched and searched for ideas on Pinterest, then headed to my favorite store, Target. I had a few ideas but really needed to see some products in person to get a better feel of how I wanted to get started.

First I tossed those big old chunky hangers that we have all owned for years, they take up way too much space, and are always getting broken. I replaced all clothes with Joy Mangano Huggable Hangers from Target. These are the best thing ever, I can't believe I didn't purchase them sooner! They were the biggest overhaul for my closet, I gained a lot more space on my racks!

The Love Of A Sibling

The bond of a sibling is an amazing bond, one that needs no words to explain.

I grew up with two younger brothers, when they were babies I adored them, tried to "mother" them and take care of them. As we grew older, we just grew closer and closer. I can't even imagine what having a sister would be like because the bond with my brothers is immeasurable and I see the same thing right in front of my eyes on a daily basis with my own two children.

Finding Me Time

I'll be the first to admit it's hard to juggle this single parent thing. Between work, after school therapy sessions, errands, keeping up with house work, this blog, and my never ending to-do list, I have a lot going on - all the time. Everything rests on my shoulders, at the end of the day if I don't do it, it's probably not going to get done.

It's hard to find just me time, don't get me wrong I love my children, they are my world but with my schedule it's very rare that I get alone, quiet or down time. Even after my children are in bed or at school, there is always something that needs to be done. Well last week I decided not only did I need me time, I needed to make time and I needed it now. Not tomorrow, not next month, now.

Working Together As A Family

It's a big job being a single parent, on top of normal housework, I do all the cooking, shopping, playing taxi for the kids, etc. We all work together on a daily basis to keep our home clean and running smoothly.

My children don't have a chore chart, they don't have chores - and they never will. I don't bribe my children,  and I don't demand either. From a young age they have watched me clean and pick up after myself and they just slowly followed suite. I may have to kindly remind my daughter or son from time to time, but they know that I expect them to help me around the house.

My Relationship With Our Heavenly Father

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”
Romans 8:28 NKJV

Something happened this year, one day I woke up and God laid on my heart that this year I need to spend more time with him and get closer to him, get more intimate with our Heavenly Father. So I've been doing just that, you may have seen my Instagram post about my Bible readings, I couldn't be more excited about this new journey that I have started.

Rise and Shine with Entenmann’s® Little Bites® Muffins

(Disclosure: I was sent the products featured below for the purpose of this review. All opinions are 100% my own.)

It's no secret that week day mornings are just a little hectic in our home, it takes everybody working together to get up, get dressed, eat breakfast and get out the door on time. Breakfast most mornings is a struggle, I wish I had time to prepare pancakes, eggs, etc, but reality is I don't, sometimes I don't even have time on the weekends for that. Breakfast for us needs to be healthy, but quick, easy and preferably not that messy.
