Our Summer Road Trip to Corpus Christi

Every summer our family takes a road trip down to the beach, usually we visit Galveston, but this year we were a little worried about a tropical storm that was moving in, so we shifted gears a little bit and drove down to Corpus Christi!

Corpus Christi, Texas is only about a 5 hour drive south of us, so we loaded up the car and headed for the beach! I don't mind driving at all, I actually prefer it over flying, the kids had plenty of things to keep them busy during the drive and they did great!

This was our first family trip to Corpus Christi and it was so much fun, we stayed at North Beach and our hotel was literally right on the beach! We had gorgeous views and the weather was wonderful, there is a ton to do and see at North Beach and many things were within walking distance of our hotel!

If you are planning a trip to North Beach Corpus Christi, be sure to check out:

  • The USS Lexington
  • Texas State Aquarium
  • Corpus Christi Harbor Bridge
  • South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center
  • Dining, shopping and so much more!

I love fresh seafood, so that's all we ate our entire vacation - there are plenty of dining options to chose from in Corpus Christi as well! If you are looking to shop or pick up a souvenir, there are shops on almost every corner, and you'll be sure to find that perfect gift!

Hanging out at the beach and searching for seashells was my children's favorite thing to do, we also spent the evenings at the hotel pool just to have a change of scenery. Did I mention the sunsets are absolutely breathtaking? We loved watching the sail boats out at sea and the barges going in and out all day! I'm not sure where we will travel to next summer, but I'd be happy to go back to down to the coast!

What adventures has your family taken this summer?
